2026 Australian Public Sector Evaluation Award
I'm humbled to have received the 2026 Australian Evaluation Society Public Sector Award, along with the amazing Clear Horizon team of Zoe Enticott, Heidi Peterson, Eugene Liston, Jess Dart and colleague Julian King.
The award was for a 3-year evaluation of regional stewardship of aged care with the Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. The evaluation bridged two practices. Developmental Evaluation (DE) supported immediate learning and adaptation. Value for Investment (VFI) linked that learning to structured democratic deliberation and assessment of value that informed future policy and funding decisions.
Many thanks to the AES for recognising innovative evaluation practices that don't 'colour between the lines' but push the boundaries of evaluative practice so that policy can develop, innovate, and adapt, and people from different perspectives can be heard, included, recognised and the work they do valued appropriately.
